Mission Statement
Our philosophy for teaching
languages involves personal one-on-one contact. This allows the instructor to
factor in the personality of the student, and utilize that in a positive way to
benefit the student. This method comes naturally, is more meaningful to the
student in a way that has a long-lasting effect on the student and their life,
which translates into better long-term language skills retention.
A Personal Touch
Personal
tutoring is accomplished through the use of the telephone, or with computers and
voice/video conferencing over the internet. The instructor interacts directly
with the student, and does not make use
of any traditional computer software language programs. We sincerely believe
that creating a personal learning experience is the key to retaining language
skills.
Methods
There are four
language skills one has to master: Speaking, listening, writing and reading. Of
these listed, by far the most difficult is the ability to speak or express ideas
in a foreign language. Listening or the ability to discern words and sentences
and understand the spoken word comes next. Finally, writing is more difficult
than reading, since it requires mastery both in style and grammar.

Techniques
Nothing can be more important for a student of a foreign language studies than
to be able to express their ideas in a coherent and concise way. The only
way that an adult student will ever hope to accomplish this is when they will
have enough time to practice communicating their ideas to his or her foreign
language partner. Notice that it is not only about vocabulary.
